Baked Apple Slices

3 large baking apples, peeled, sliced
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 cup apple cider
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup pecans and raisins

Place apples in a greased 1 quart baking dish. Combine sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and apple cider; pour over the apples. Dot with butter or margarine. Sprinkle with nuts and raisins. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 45 - 60 minutes or until the apples are tender. Serve warm over ice cream or pound cake. You can also serve in a pretty dish and drizzle cream over the apples.
