Homemade Country Waffles
Heat your iron according to directions. Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a medium size bowl. Beat eggs in second bowl. Stir in milk and blend in the butter. Add the liquid ingredients to dry ingredients. Stir or beat until batter is smooth. Cook according to your iron's directions. Variations:
Bacon waffles
Cut thin sliced bacon strips in half. Place 1 piece on each section of batter in the iron before closing cover. Bake as directed.

Cheese waffles
Add 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese to batter and bake as directed.

Ham waffles
Prepare batter as directed above, top batter for each waffle with 2 tablespoons minced, cooked ham before closing cover. Bake as directed.
