MINT BROWNIES


1 and 1/2 cups melted butter
3 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
5 eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 cup Hersheys cocoa
24 small York Peppermint Patties

Preheat oven to 350*. Grease a 9 X 13 inch baking pan.
In bowl, stir together butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add eggs and stir till well blended.
Mix in flour, salt, baking powder, and cocoa, blend well. Reserve 2 cups batter.
Spread remaining batter in bottom of prepared baking pan. Arrange mint patties about 1/2 inch apart in a layer on the batter in pan. Spread reserved batter over the top.
Bake 50 to 55 minutes. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into squares.
