Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/2 CUP sifted all-purpose flour plus 1 TBSP flour
1/4 TSP baking soda
1/4 TSP salt
1/4 CUP sugar
2 TBSP light-brown sugar
1/2 small package semi-sweet pieces
1/4 CUP walnuts
1/4 CUP soft butter
1/2 TSP vanilla
1/2 egg

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Into large bowl, sift flour with baking soda and salt. Add sugars, egg, vanilla and butter. With wooden spoon or portable mixer; mix at medium speed until smooth. Stir in nuts and semi-sweet pieces. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10 minutes; remove to cool on wire rack.
