Marshmellow Fudge

4 cups minature marshmellows or 32 large marshmellows OR one 10 oz jar of marshmellow cream
1 small can evaporated milk or 2/3 cup
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tea salt
1 12 oz package semi swet chocolate chips
1 tea vanilla
1/2 cup nuts if you want

Mix marshmellows, butter, sugar, milk and the salt in a large sauce pan. Cook and stir until mixture comes to a full boil. Boil for 5 minutes over medium heat stirring constantly. Remove from heat, add chocolate chips stirring until chips are melted. Add vanilla and nuts, stirring until blended. Pour in to butter 9 in square pan that has been buttered. Chill and cut into squares.

VARIATIIONS: Add raisins instead of nuts. OR Substitute 3/4 cup to 1 cup peanut butter for the marshmellows.
