Oatmeal Muffins


1 cup quick cooking oats
1 cup sour milk
1 egg
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup melted shortening, cooled
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Soak oats in sour milk, let stand 1 hour, add egg and beat well. Add sugar and mix. Add cooled shortening, add flour sifted with salt, baking powder and soda. Baked in greased muffin pans in oven 400 : for 15-20 minutes.
