IRISH SODA BREAD

2 - Cups whole wheat flour
1 - teaspoon salt
2 - teaspoons baking soda
1/4 - cup sugar
1 - cup buttermilk
1 - beaten egg
1/4 - cup butter, melted
3/4 - cup raisens

Preheat oven to 450 deg. Stir together the first four ingredients. Mix together the buttermilk, egg and butter and gradually add it to the dry ingredients. Stir in raisens. Shape the dough into a flat round loaf and cut a large deep X across the top. Bake on baking pan for 45 minutes. Serves six.
