Maple Rum-Flavored Syrup
Heat 1 cup maple-flavored syrup with 1 tbsp. butter or margarine. Remove from heat; stir in 1/2 to 1 tsp. rum flavoring. Serve warm. .
Cinamon-Maple Syrup
Heat 1 cup maple-flavored syrup with 1 tbsp. butter or margarine and 1/2
tsp. cinnamon. Serve warm.
Lemon Syrup
Mix 1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. salt in saucepan.
Gradually stir in 1 1/2 cups hot water. Bring mixture to a boil,
stirring constantly. Simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Blend in 3 tbsp. butter
or margarine, 2 tbsp. lemon juice, 1 tsp. grated lemon rind and 1/2 tsp.
nutmeg. Serve warm. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
Sausage Ball Syrup
Serve tiny sausage balls swimming in maple-flavored syrup-no need to cook
another breakfast meat.
1/2 cup bulk pork sausage
1 1/3 cup maple-flavored syrup
Form pork sausage in small balls, 1/2 inch in diameter. Cook thoroughly
about 10 minutes. Drain sausage balls; add to syrup. Heat slowly 5
minutes.
Serve hot over pancakes.
Orange-Maple Syrup
Heat 1 cup maple-flavored syrup with 1 tbsp. butter or margarine and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Serve warm.
