Raisin Cake
3 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon cloves
1 1/2 pounds raisins
3 tablespoons margarine
3 cups water
4 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
In a saucepan, combine first 7 ingredients. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Sift remaining ingredients together. Add to cooled raisin mixture.
Line two 1 pound loaf pans with foi. Greast foil well. Pour batter into pans.
Bake 300° for 80 minutes. Cool in pans.
