Wild Rice Soup


1 lb. soup bones
1 c. milk or evaporated milk
1 C. wild rice, uncooked
3 stalks celery, sliced
2 parsnips, sliced
2 lg.gadic cloves, grated
4 c. cubed carrots
1/2 med. onion, grated
2 Lg. potatoes, shredded raw with skins on
1/4 C fresh chives
1/2 tsp. yellow mustard
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 1/2 tsp. Mrs. Dash
5 whole cloves
1/2 tsp. Italian seasonings

Put bones, wild rice, onion and garlic in a large pot. Cover with water, bring to a boil, cover, turn down to simmer for /2 hour. Add celery, parsnips, carrots and seasonings. Bring to a boil and then turn down and simmer for another 1/2 hour Grate in potatoes, cover, cook until potatoes are tender, about 10 minutes. Add milk, heat and serve. This makes a large amount, about 1 1/2 gallons.
