Western-Style Casserole


1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 can (16 ounces) whole kernel corn, drained
1 can (16 ounces) red kidney beans, drained
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup dark corn syrup
milk
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 cup buttermilk baking mix

Cook beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat 5 minutes or until browned. Stir in corn, beans , soup, cheese, corn syrup, 1/4 cup milk and chili powder. Spoon mixture into a 2-quart casserole. Bake in preheated 450 degrees oven 20-25 minutes or until bubbly.

Beat buttermilk baking mix and 1/3 cup milk with a fork in medium-size bowl until blended....mixture will be thick. Drop mixture by spoonfuls on top of beef mixture, bake in preheated 400 degrees oven 25 minutes or until biscuits are golden.
