Banana Bars
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 to 2 bananas, mashed
1/3 c. milk
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
1/2 C. nuts (optional)
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and mix welt. Add bananas, milk and lemon juice; mix well. Add flour, salt, soda and nuts, if desired. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes at 350* in 9 x 13 inch pan.
FROSTING:
2 tbsp. bufter
2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 banana, mashed
Beat all ingredients until smooth. Frost bars.
