Fruit for the Stars
1 crenshaw or honeydew melon
1 cantaloupe
1 carambola (star fruit)
1 small bunch purple-black or red grapes
1 pint strawberries
1 loaf pound cake (12 oz) frozen
8 wooden skewers
FRUIT DIP
1 cup marshmallow cream
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese
1 can (8 oz) crushed pineapple in juice
Make 8 melon balls from honeydew. Cut cantaloup into eight 2 inch
chunks.
Slice carambola crosswise, making 8 pieces. Hull strawberries. Wash
grapes.
Cut pound cake into 8 1 inch chunks.
Thread melon balls and chunks, grapes strawaberries, and cake onto
skewers. Top each skewer with 1 slice of carambola.
For the fruit dip, in a large bow, beat marshmallow cream and cream
cheese on medium speed until blended and smooth. Add pineapple and
juice.
With the mixer set on low speed, beat until just combined, about 30
seconds.
Makes 8 servings with about 2 cups of dip..
